Sinauli, a village in the Baghpat district of Uttar Pradesh, is a very fascinating place, especially for those who like reading about history. It is an archaeological site. There are many artifacts and things which prove history and bring an amazing story associated with them. The excavations of Sinauli have uncovered secrets that were buried for 4000 years.

HOW DID PEOPLE DISCOVER?

In the year 2005, one of the people of Sinauli was digging his fields. While doing so, he got some gold pieces. He was very confused yet curious and so he began to dig more. He started getting more pieces. He was surprised when he got skeletons and ornaments. This news spread in the village like a forest fire. So, the Archaeological Survey of India approached Sinauli and started their research..
 

Their research began in 2005 but due to some reasons they had to shut it. However, in 2018, the farmers of Sinauli started getting more things from the soil once again and so our archaeologists reached Sinauli and began their research once again. This time their research proved more than enough. Something which wasn't been discovered by anyone in history.


REVEALING SECRETS

1. The excavation found 116 burials, the most found in every excavation. It also make this Sinauli site the world's largest grave site (or graveyard).




2. For the first time in the history of Indian excavations and archaeology, chariots were found in the burials along with other ornaments like pots and other handicrafts. These chariots show that these must be the burials of the brave people of that time, maybe soldiers.



3. In the burials, antenna swords were also found. In the previous excavations, archaeologists just found the sword without its hilt. But this, time it was with the hilt.



4. Other things found were jewellery, earthen pots and shields. And some of the burials were of women and also had swords and weapons. This concluded that 4000 years ago, women used to fight alongside men.




Isn't it amazing? These research and excavations!.
Imagine if this is found in just a small area what would be there in a large part! Who knows what mystery our history leaves behind.
