Due to this Covid-19 pandemic, technology has helped a lot of people not only to expand their business, but perform some important chores which were closed during the quarantine. One of these were the online classes.


As a student, I observed online classes to be good. However, as there is always a room for mistakes, I often find some mistakes & bugs in these.

These online classes were majorly conducted on some well-heard apps like Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, Cisco Webex, etc. Due to the advancement in technology, a lot of invented features eased the need of the teachers and students.

FEATURES

a) The microphone enabled us to connect with each other.
b) The video option made it feel like a real offline school. It also made it easy to interact with the teacher.
c) The teachers could share their screen and explain the topic through animated videos and pictures.
d) We always had the option to raise our hand, if any doubt.
e) The chat option was also very useful.

Now, we will be talking about the pros and cons of these virtual classes.

ADVANTAGES:

1) In the difficult of times, online classes enabled education all over the world.
2) It is easy to grab concepts through videos, pictures and other means.
3) They bring education right to your home.
4) Through online classes, children have become tech masters.
5) They are convenient as well.

DISADVANTAGES:

1) In the beginning, the students missed classes as they didn't know how to handle the apps.
2) There is always a chance of children to cheat in the exams.
3) Sometimes, it is difficult to ensure a good network connectivity.
4) It requires a lot of self-discipline.
5) Children can be easily distracted by things going around.
6) This also increases screen time and it may weaken their eyes.

Therefore, it was not only a hard time for the students, but for the teachers as well. Though technology helped in education but it could not fulfil the pleasure and happiness we got in meeting our teachers and friends in person and now not only the students and the teachers, but the parents also wish for the same.
